Plays a young ballet dancer who through circumstances I won't give away here (it is all explained in a well done opening sequence) has to transfer to a rough, urban high school, where metal detectors at the door are an every day occurence and guns are more plentiful than yearbooks. Julia Stiles, in her surly "10 Things I Hate About You" mode, I am happy to report I was pleasantly surprised. I went into this one with fairly low expectations - a chick flick done in co-operation with MTV films, the same network that brings us the painfully unfunny Tom Green each and every week, didn't exactly fill me with an overwhelming sense of confidence.
